The Top Museums and Attractions to Check Out in Wichita Falls

Have you just moved to Wichita Falls? Is your knowledge of the city somewhat narrow? Well, don’t worry about that anymore! Wichita Falls, TX has a number of museums and other attractions where you can delve deep into our history, culture, and a whole bunch of other fun details that helped to develop our city into a great place to live. Here at A-1 Freeman Moving Group, we’ve been helping people move to and around Wichita Falls for quite a while now, and this has helped us become immensely knowledgeable on some of the coolest and most entertaining exhibits.

After you get yourself acquainted with your new routine, you really should take some time to check out the following museums and exhibits:

  • Museum of North Texas History – For everything Texas, you’ll want to stop by this fantastic museum. They have an incredibly unique setup where each room is dedicated to another theme. In one room, you’ll find a ton of information and artifacts from the local Native American tribes, in another you’ll learn about the beginnings on the oil industry, and in another you’ll find a whole host of antique medical items that were used here in the Wichita Falls area. A must see for every family.
  • The Kemp Center for the Arts – This is really your one-stop place for all things art related here in Wichita Falls. The Kemp Center pulls in rotating exhibits all through the year, they have classes and educational events for kids of all ages, and they also bring in live performances to wow audiences. They’ve been around since 1995, and throughout the years have proven that if you want to see something new and interesting, you’ll want to check out the Kemp Center for the Arts on a regular basis.
  • River Bend Nature Center – If you’re looking for the perfect place to take the kids, you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for here at the River Bend Nature Center. With a focus on hands-on education, you’ll find all kinds of wildlife and plant life on display here. They have an aquatic display and a butterfly enclosure that’s sure to ignite that spark of wonder in kids of all ages (and adults too!). There are plenty of nature trails and wetlands to check out also, over 17 acres to discover. A fan favorite of Wichita Falls residents, we’re sure it’ll quickly become your favorite also.
