But children may not see things the same as you, especially if they have close pals and/or family where they live already. The concept of moving to a different school and away from established relationships can create a great deal of angst in children.

While it could be tough for kiddos to move away from everyday folks, places, and things, there are things you should do to help with the transition to Wichita Falls.

Honest Communication

Make sure they are aware each point along the way. Children must feel safe to express their jitters as well as asking questions so be able to provide facts and answer any questions they might have. Involve Them in Packing

There are a lot of age-appropriate ways that kids can be included in the chore of packing up. Let them assist you box up their personal things in moving boxes and allow them to label the boxes of their stuff. (An added benefit is they can go through their belongings and give away or discard things that they no longer use.)

Stick with Routines

Assist your children in getting to know the new lay of the land, landmarks, and neighbors. Encourage them to meet new friends and learn the layout of the new area so they do not feel quite so lost.
